Winifred G. Vallet Penn Yan: Winifred G. Vallet, age 97, of Penn Yan, formerly of Binghamton, NY died Monday May 26, 2014 at the Penn Yan Manor. Honoring her wishes there are no prior calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (June 14) in Hillside Cemetery, Route 14A Dundee, NY, with her niece Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Winifred was born January 31, 1917 in Altay, NY, the daughter of the late Harry L. and Laura Seybolt Green. She graduated from Dundee High School in 1935; and went on to graduate from Elmira Business School as a Stenographer. On Oct. 13, 1940 in Dundee, she married the late George D. Vallet; who passed away on March 27, 1988. She was employed as a Home Health Aide by Broome County Dept. of Health, in Binghamton, NY; and worked into her 80's before retiring. Mrs. Vallet was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, in Binghamton; the Dundee Baptist Church was her home church. She is survived by her grandsons, Jeffrey (Barbara) Vallet of Hastings, Neb., Brian (Joan) Vallet of Endwell, NY, Brett (Tara) Vallet of Avoca, PA Jon (Mickey) Vallet of Newport News, VA; former daughter-in-law, Iola Jayne (Robert) Di Iorio and their son, William; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces Kathleen Stocking (Jeffery) Tuttle, Lew Ann Green (Alan) Giles, Amy Green Manley and nephew Dale (Anita) Stocking; several great nieces and nephews, and good friends Helen Harris and Alta Neville. She was preceded in death by her son, Harry G. Vallet in 1971, her sister Phyllis (Green) Stocking in 1977 and her brother, Lewis H. Green in 2006.
