William S. Geertson
Penn Yan: William S. Geertson, age 83, formerly of Branchport, NY died Sunday June 9, 2013 at Huntington Living Center, in Waterloo, NY.
Honoring the families wishes there were no prior calling hours. A graveside service with Full Military Honor's was held at 11:00 am Tuesday June 11, in Branchport Cemetery, with Pastor Ken Sisson officiating.

William was born January 5, 1930 in Mayville, NY the son of the late Harley and Florence Hatch Geertson. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. A farmer all of his life, he was a retired mechanic, having been employed by CYNCON, of Rochester, NY. Mr. Geertson was a Past Commander of the Naples VFW, and current member of the Penn Yan VFW.
He is loved and will be missed by 2 daughters, Cynthia Enos and Linda (Dominick) Ciancaglini both of Penn Yan, a son Wm. David (Cindy) Geertson, and a step son Dennis (Dottie) Hanson both of Branchport; a sister Althea Logan of South Carolina; a brother Gordon Geertson address unknown; a half-sister Frances Mongetory of Jamestown, NY; a sister in law Joan Geertson of Ohio; a brother in law George Rose of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his wife Ann E. Rose Geertson in 1992, a daughter Sandra McCarthy in 2013, and a brother Arthur Geertson in 2009.
