Violet May Andrews Wayne: Violet May Andrews, age 86, of Wayne, NY died Sunday May 20, 2012 at Schuyler Hospital, Montour Falls, N.Y.. Friends may call from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Wednesday (May 23) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm with Rev. Richard Baley officiating. Violet was born May 10, 1926 in Woodhull, NY, the daughter of Menzo and Margaret Riddleson Rice. On March 9, 1952 in Addison, NY she married the late Robert H. Andrews Sr., who passed away on June 3, 1993. She has lived locally since 1973, previously of Addison, NY. A former employee of Michael Stearns Clothing, Penn Yan, NY, she also worked with her husband on his farms. Mrs. Andrews was a member of the Waneta Lake Baptist Chapel, and was very proud of her former membership in the Plane Spotters Organization, during World War II. She was and avid poet, having been a multiple recipient of the Golden poet Award. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her son Randy L. Andrews; a daughter in law Tammy Andrews; 9 grandchildren John Andrews, Christina DeZilva, Brandon, Bobbie Ann, and Katreena Andrews, Steven Rider, Jessica, Venessa, and Thomas Andrews; 5 great grandchildren; a brother Adrian Rice of Addison, NY; a sister Edith Shelansky of Painted Post, NY; numerous nieces and nephews; and special dear friends Peter and Karen Fryer. Besides her parents, and husband, she was pre-deceased by a son Robert H. Andrews Jr. in August of 2011; and 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.
