Terry L. Wax

Penn Yan: Terry L. Wax, Terry L. Wax, age 72 of Penn Yan NY passed away on Sunday October 25, 2026 at Geneva General Hospital.

Terry was born October 27, 1953 in Salamanca, NY the son of the late William J and Alethea E. Wax. He graduated from Hammondsport Central School in 1972; worked at Dundee Motors and Malcolm Auto Sales, for a time after high school then went to work at the Lake Country Ford dealership in Penn Yan for 19 years; before starting at Trombley Tire and Auto. Along with working as a mechanic he also drove truck for Doug Marchionda and would help at the parts counter at CarQuest.

You could always find him working on something in the garage whether it was repairing the car, rebuilding the 1978 Ford F150, or building something to work on in the house.

He was a past member with 20 years of service with the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department, 5 years as Chief.

Terry loved listening to music, anything from 80’s rock to classic country. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter and watching the various sports and plays she was involved with. He enjoyed watching NASCAR every weekend along with his soaps and game shows during the week in his later years.

He is survived by his loving daughter Amber (Anthony Campbell) Rinick, close friend Dorothy McCann; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Terry was pre deceased by his parents; and the mother of his daughter Patricia M (Westfall) Wax on Jan. 6, 2025.

Friends are invited to calling hours from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday Nov. 6, at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where his funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday Nov. 7, with Pastor Lew Ann Giles Officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Village Cemetery, Wayne, NY.
