Susan Ann Smith-Orr Tyrone/Dundee: Susan Ann Smith-Orr, age 78, of Dundee, NY passed away Monday February 26, 2024 at Schuyler Hospital, in Montour Falls, N.Y. There will be no prior calling hours. A Celebration of Her Life will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 pm with a memorial service being conducted at 4:00 p.m. Friday March 15, 2024 at the Tyrone Fire Hall, 3600 State Route 226 Tyrone, NY, with Pastor Lee Capodagli officiating. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family in Tyrone Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Schuyler County 124 Marina Dr. Montour Falls, NY 14865. Susan was born August 11, 1945 in Owego, NY, the daughter of the late Alva Leon and Olive Mary (Young) Smith. She was a waitress at Nicks in Horseheads for many years, but her true love was hair dressing, and she was the personal beautician of countless women over the years. She was also loved by many people who she was a personal caregiver for. Susan was a long time member of Tyrone United Methodist Church. In her spare time she loved doing crafts, crochet, gardening, arranging flowers, and was a friend to all animals. She is survived by a son Raymond (Jill Landon) Rumsey of Addison, NY; 2 daughters Kimberley A. Timmerman of Prattsburgh, NY, Kristie J. (Judd) McAtee of Horseheads, NY; and a step daughter Kathy Jo (Ed) Hanville of Southport, NY; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren including a special bond with her great granddaughter Novalee; 3 nieces; 1 nephew and her best friend of 50+ years, Nancy Palmer. A very special thanks to her adopted granddaughter, Kimmie Dombroski who went beyond the call to make sure her final days were spent well, happy and comfortable. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 24 years, William R. Orr Sr. in 2014; a sister Sandi Creach-Ruthstrom in 2017; and a grandson Joshua Northup in 2022.
