Shirley M. Cornish Dundee: Shirley M. Cornish, age 82, of The Terrace in Dundee, NY passed away Monday November 20, 2017 at Keuka Comfort Care Home, in Penn Yan, NY. Honoring her wishes there are no prior calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 28, in Tyrone Union Cemetery, with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Shirley was born May 5, 1935 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late John and Isabelle {Conley} Wood. A lifelong area resident; in 1961 in Virginia, she married the late James H. Coon; they had two sons before he passed away on August 29, 1966. On August 1, 1972, Shirley married Jack E. Cornish. A Waitress for over 40 years, having worked for many local eateries, she enjoyed the 15 years employed by Savard's Family Restaurant in Watkins Glen the most, retiring in 1994. Mrs. Cornish was a member of Dundee Baptist Church, and enjoyed reading in her spare time. She is survived by her 3 son Timothy John Coon of Fruitland Park, FL, David James Coon of Dundee, Scott A. Cornish of Taylorsville, NC; 5 grandchildren Kayla, Brandy, and Sierra Cornish, Joshua, and Samantha Coon; 2 brothers Don (Lois) Wood of Hammondsport, Robert N. Wood of Dundee; 2 sisters Thelma J. Buckle, and Wilma (Jack) Crans both of Bradford, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her first husband, she was predeceased by the father of her youngest son Jack Cornish in 2011, a dear sister Doris M.
