Sally J. Wood Himrod: Sally J. Wood, age 95, of Himrod, NY passed away on Monday October 21, 2024 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY. The family would like to invite the community to a public visitation from 10:00 am. -1:00 pm Friday November 1, 2024 at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water St., Dundee, NY, 14837. A private graveside service will be held in Grove Mount Cemetery, Himrod, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in Sally's name to charity of the donor's choice. Sally was born January 1, 1929 in Montour Falls, NY, the daughter of the late James G. and Beatrice A. (Roe) Randall. After graduating from High School, she married James H. Wood on August 3, 1947 in Montour Falls, he preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 2017. They moved to Himrod from Odessa in 1954, and worked side by side on their dairy farm, appropriately named Sprout Hill Dairy Farm. Mrs. Wood loved children so much, in her younger years, she was a devoted volunteer class aide for Dundee Central School. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, and all forms of fabric and yarn crafts, and tending her beautiful flower beds. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her 5 children, daughter Alleine J. (Chuck) Miller of Freeville, NY, son Warren A. (Ann) Wood of Himrod, son Bruce A. (Teri) Wood of Cortland, NY, daughter Annie E. (Richard) Meyer of Geneva, and son Robert A. Wood of Jacksonville, FL; 19 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by 2 brothers.
