Ruth A. Lewis Brockport/Dundee: Ruth A. Lewis, of Brockport, NY formerly of Dundee; passed away Saturday June 23, 2018 at Elderwood of Lakeside at Brockport, at the proud age of 95. Friends are invited to calling from 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon Monday (July 2) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where her funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon with her nephew Rev. Sherman McElwain officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Baptist Church, 20 Seneca Street, or the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Ruth was born July 29, 1922 in Caroline, NY, one of 9 children of the late Fred and Anna {Stien} Shrauger. On June 29, 1946 in Corning, NY she married William J.G. Lewis who passed away on October 5, 1972 She was employed by Westinghouse, in Bath, NY for 30 ½ years, retiring in 1983. Mrs. Lewis was a very devoted and active member of the community; having been a member of the Dundee Baptist Church, and Corner Class of the Baptist Church; American Baptist Woman's Federation; a Life Member of the Dundee American Legion Bradley-Jessop Post #660, Ladies Aux.; and former member of the Dundee Order Of The Eastern Star, Meals on Wheels & Food Pantry Volunteer; Westinghouse Retirees; and the Dundee Central School Election Board. In her spare time, she managed to Travel the World, including all 50 States, and visited more countries, and exotic places than there is room to mention. She is survived by her only son Thomas W. (Marjorie) Lewis of Spencerport, NY; one granddaughter Meredith Ann Lewis of Rochester; her only surviving brother Albert (Winogine) Shrauger of Lisle, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was pre-dec. by 3 brothers Fred Shrauger, Raymond Shrauger, and Robert Shrauger; and 4 sisters Pauline Barrett, Carolyn Ceurter, Florence Watson and Anna May Mills.
