Obituary

Ronald L. ''Ron'' McClain Dundee: Ronald L. ''Ron'' McClain, age 75, of Dundee, NY passed away unexpectedly on Saturday February 13, 2021 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, in Elmira, NY. Honoring his wishes there will be no calling hours or service at this time. A Celebration of His Life will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Ronald was born January 17, 1946 in Penn Yan, NY, the son of the late Archie Lee and Grace M. (Sample) McClain. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1964. On August 28, 1965 in Rock Stream, NY he married the former Arlene L. Reynolds. He was employed by the salt plant is Watkins Glen as a bulk loader retiring after 43 years from U.S. Salt, in 2008. Ron personally enjoyed and played many sports; and later enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren playing in their own sporting endeavors. He loved his Syracuse Orangeman. Come summer you could find him outside mowing the lawn or just puttering around. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Arlene L. McClain at home; a daughter Shelley (Jack) Ayers of Dundee; son Gregory(Marie) McClain of Thousand Oaks, CA; 4 grandchildren Brent Ayers, and Morgan Ayers both of Dundee, NY, Chloe McClain and Benjamin McClain both of Thousand Oaks, CA; 3 great grandchildren Logan Stracco, Alexis Richardson, and Addalyn Ayers; a brother- in- law Philip Reynolds of Dundee; sister-in-laws Shirley Phillips of Jacksonville, NC, and Joyce Perkins of Rochester, NY; a sister Sandra Laursen of Bath, NY, several nieces, nephews, cousins; and countless wonderful friends.
