Rodney D. Orr Dundee: Rodney D. Orr, age 68, of Highland Dr. Dundee, NY died Friday January 16, 2015 at Keuka Comfort Care Home, in Penn Yan, NY. Honoring his wishes there were no calling hours and the family will have a small gathering in the woods, near the family cabin; a place he loved to go. This will take place in the spring, when the weather is better suited and the family will be notified. Rodney was born December 7, 1946 in Penn Yan, NY, the son of the late William D. and Irene Hines Orr. Rodney was an avid movie buff and could tell a great story, sometimes blending reality and fiction. But that didn't matter, to him, these were his stories, his experiences and this, along with family, are what made him happy. He didn't have a lot of money, or material things, but he had a love of family, and this was all the wealth he needed. Sometimes he would just people watch, sit back and enjoy life. It may have seemed a simple existence, but we should all take a page from his book. We should relax, slow down, enjoy what we have, stop worrying about what we don't have. This is truly living, and that's what Rodney D. Orr did! He is survived by his sons Rodney Soles of Avoca, NY, Paul Orr, of Wayne, NY, and daughter, Theresa Irvin of Dundee, NY. He was predeceased by a brother William R. Orr Sr. on May 28, 2014. Arrangements were entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
