Penn Yan: Robert A. Smith, age 65, of Penn Yan, NY died Friday May 4, 2018 in the comfort of his home.

Honoring his wishes there are no prior calling hours. A Celebration of His Life will be held from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday June 24, 2018 at the home of his cousin Susan Flood 4084 Old Fourteen Dundee, N.Y. 14837.

Memorial contributions may be made to a local charity of the donor's choice.

Robert was born June 24, 1952 in Penn Yan, NY, the son of the late Edward A. and Verna Inscho Smith. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1970. On Aug. 26, 1976 in the Dresden United Methodist Church he married the former Donna M. Brouillard. Robert was a retired Engineering Lab Technician employed by G.W. Lisk Inc., of Clifton Springs, NY until his retirement in 2015.

"A Great Father to his own, and 2nd Dad to Many" Robert was an avid musician, playing both Lead and Rhythm Guitar, with favorite music being the Beatles, Eric Clapton, and Traveling Wilburys.

He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 41 years Donna M. Smith at home; his daughter Kaitlin L. Smith of Penn Yan, 2 granddaughters Izabella-Marie, and Laila Smith; a sister Cindy (Roger) Swarts of Mesa, AZ; a brother David (Gloria) Rich of Beaver Dams, NY; and special nieces and nephews Martha, Michael, Alisa, Richard, John, Frank, and Michelle Lynn "Kid"; along with countless friends, and relatives.

Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by 2 sisters Bonnie and her husband Dave Rich, and Carol Barnes; and a niece Michelle Zell.
