Obituary

Robert H. Glen Dundee: Robert H. "Bob" Glen, age 95, of Dundee, NY died Saturday September 23, 2017 at Schuyler Hospital, in Montour Falls, N.Y. Honoring his wishes there will be no prior calling hours or formal service. Inurnment will be private in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Robert was born November 6, 1921 in the Town of Tyrone, NY, the son of the late William O. and Arline Lois {Losey} Glen. He graduated in 1939 a member of the first class of the newly formed Dundee Central School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II in Guam. On Sept. 22, 1951 in the Dundee United Methodist Church he married the former Rose Ann Areford. A life-long area resident, Bob was employed as a machinist by Ingersoll- Rand, in Painted Post, for 44 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Dundee Methodist Church, and was a former First Vice Commander of the Dundee American Legion. He is survived by his wife of exactly 66 years Rose Ann Glen at home; a son Dirk Robert (Kimberly) Glen; and a granddaughter Allyson P. Glen all of Durham, NC; nephews Thomas (Fay) McIlroy of Dundee, Robert (Wannetta) McIlroy of Newfield, NY, Richard (Tracie) McIlroy of Watkins Glen, NY, Calvin "Skip" Areford of North Carolina, Greg Areford of Dundee; and a niece Lisa Reiley of West Coxsackie, NY. He was predeceased by two sisters, Betty McIlroy, and Norma Glen. Arrangements were entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
