Richard C. Bailey Bradford: Richard C. Bailey, of Bradford, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the age of 82. Richard was born July 6, 1941 in Penn Yan, NY, the son of the late Spencer D. and Natalie M. (Gleason) Bailey. He was a graduate of Dundee Central School. He married his high school sweetheart, the former Mildred A. Thompson in 1962. Richard made his career as a farmer, working for several different farms in the area and eventually owning and operating his own dairy farm, Lamoka Valley Farms, in Tyrone, NY. Richard was a dedicated member of the Tyrone Volunteer Fire Department; Sons of the American Legion- Meade-Price Post 1208, Wayne, NY; the Lamoka Lodge 463 F&AM, Tyrone, NY; and the Tyrone Chapter # 612, Order of The Eastern Star. Additionally, he served as a Councilmember on the Tyrone Town Board. He is loved and will be forever missed by his wife of 61 years, Mildred A. Bailey; his three children, Steven R. (Deborah) Bailey of Montour Falls, Tina M. (Charles) Cummings of Churchville, NY, and Curt S. (Kathleen) Bailey of Bradford, NY, with whom he made his home. He will be fondly remembered as Poppy to his five grandsons, Nathaniel Bailey, Nicholas Bailey, Maxwell Bailey, John Glick, Jr., Christopher (Tracey) Glick, his four great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Richard is also survived by two brothers, John (Linda) Bailey and Harry (Roberta) Bailey of Bradford, NY and many nieces and nephews. Honoring his wishes, there were no calling hours. A Celebration of His Life, will begin at 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm Saturday Jan. 13, 2024. Inurnment in Tyrone Union Cemetery will be at a later date.
