Rhoda H. Bation East Hampton, LI: Rhoda H. Bation, age 79, of East Hampton, LI, NY passed away on Friday December 2, 2016 in the comfort of her son's home in Rock Stream, NY. Honoring the families wishes there will be no calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Rhoda was born August 25, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Harold and Blanche Kustoff Shrednick. She graduated from Eastern District High School in Brooklyn class of 1955, and went on to receive her Bachelors Degree in Sociology from University of New York, Westbury. On July 4, 1988 in New York City she married the late Lee Bation, who died on January 1, 2011. Mrs. Bation was employed by the N.Y. City Probation Dept. where she was a leader in the investigations unit. Her methodology was such that her reports are used all over the country now to train new probation officers in pre sentencing investigations. She devoted the final years of her life to the care and rescue of animals, as well as campaigning for Long Island Republican politicians. A member of the East Hampton American Legion Ladies Aux.; she served on the East Hampton Board of Elections, and was a "Die Hard" member of the Republican Club; supporter of ELSAS ARK in East Hampton. She is survived and will be missed by her 2 sons Matthew S. (Andrea) Dienstag of Rock Stream, NY; Bill D. (Marjorie) Dienstag of Manhattan, NY; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a sister Sonya Sherman of Georgia.
