Raymond J. ''Ray'' Moskal Dundee: Raymond J. ''Ray'' Moskal, age 80, of Dundee, NY died Monday August 24, 2015 at Corning Hospital, in Corning, NY. Honoring his wishes there are no prior calling hours. A memorial mass and celebration of Ray's life will be held at 12:00 noon on August 29, 2015 at St. Mary's of the Lake Parish 905 N. Decatur Street, Watkins Glen, NY, with Fr. Steve Lape officiating. There will be a repast gathering directly in the church school gym. Inurnment will be private in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee, NY at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Dundee Area Youth Center attention: The Ray Moskal Memorial Health Fund and sent to 15/17 Main Street Dundee, New York 14837. Raymond was born July 25, 1935 in Passaic, New Jersey, a son of the late Frank P. and Mary E. Gorecki Moskal. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1953. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in French and History from Albany State Teachers College in 1957. Ray began his teaching career at Dundee Central School as a high school French and History teacher. He later moved to New Jersey to teach at other high schools, the last and longest assignment was at Ramapo High School from which he retired. While at Ramapo he coordinated numerous student trips to France, England and Italy where he also lived, taught and studied for a Master's Degree at the Sorbonne University in Paris, France. A very community minded person, Ray was very instrumental in the formation and establishment of the Dundee Youth Center in 1996. He was also very active in the Yates County Democratic Party, volunteering countless hours of his time. He is survived by 3 brothers Eugene T. (Arlene) Moskal, Frank R. (Patricia) Moskal Jr. both of Dundee, Bill Moskal of Lansdowne, PA; 2 sisters Joan L. Moskal, and Catherine A. Moskal both of Dundee; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
