Rachel Stoltzfus
Dundee: Rachel Stoltzfus, age 83, of Dundee, NY died Tuesday October 30, 2018 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY.
Friends are invited to calling hours from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday (Nov. 2) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. Her funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday (Nov. 3) at the Barrington Community Church, 4560 Old Bath Rd, Dundee. Burial will follow in the Barrington Community Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St.; or the Barrington Community Church, P.O. Box 73, Dundee, NY 14837.
Rachel was born August 6, 1935 in Morgantown, PA, one of 4 daughters of the late John S. and Elizabeth {Petersheim} Stoltzfus. On Jan. 29, 1955 in Morgantown, PA she married Chester R. Stoltzfus. They have lived locally since 1976 previously of Elverson, PA.
Rachel was the owner of The Fabric Shop, in Dundee, NY for 35 years; as well as having one of the Charter booths at the Windmill Farm and Craft Market since its inception in 1987. She retired from both in 2015. Mrs. Stoltzfus was a devoted member of Barrington Community Church; had a passion for sewing, was a marvelous cook, and loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of her heart.
She is loved and will be forever missed by her husband of 63 years "Chet" R.Stoltzfus at home; 2 sons, Howard J. (Jayne) Stoltzfus of Nichols, NY, Darrel L. Stoltzfus of Mt. Joy, PA; and a daughter Wanda S. (John) Moore of Bath, NY; 7 grandchildren, Phillip (Wendy) Stoltzfus, Tyler (Erika Kalgren) Stoltzfus, Scott (Lisa) Cook, Melissa Cook, Tony Stoltzfus, Rachel (Andy) Ratchford, Jonathan (Amanda) Moore; 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Esther (Reuben) Smoker of Tyrone, NY, Ada (Roy) Burkhart of Lancaster, PA; and many nieces, nephews, and in laws.
She was pre-deceased by 2 brothers Moses and Abner Stoltzfus, and a sister Miriam Stoltzfus.
