Paul J. VanHorn, Jr., 72, of Dundee, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at his home. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water St., Dundee, NY. Paul's funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm followed by burial with full military honors in Hillside Cemetery. At the request of the family, please dress casual, as that would be how Paul would have wanted it. Paul was born in Waverly, NY on November 20, 1951 the son of Paul J. VanHorn and Lottie Bailey VanHorn and graduated from Odessa-Montour High School. While in high school, he attended BOCES where he learned a trade in masonry. He proudly served as a Sergeant with US Air Force from 1971-1975 where he was a fuel specialist. Paul worked for many years at Seedway in Hall, NY. He also previously worked at Seneca Foods and Guardian Glass. Paul loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed puzzles while listening to old records and making crafts with his grandchildren. Paul is survived by three sons, Matthew (Amanda) VanHorn of Dundee, Joshua (Catherine) VanHorn of Newark and Andrew (Brandi) VanHorn of Dundee; brothers and sisters, Clara (Walter) Irons of PA, Nancy (Larry) Larrabee of Pine Valley, Paula (Don) Smith of Alpine, Gary VanHorn of Burdett, Sheila (Slater) Ackley of PA and Rex (Sharon) Stage of PA; grandchildren, Lucas, Logan, Maverick, Riley, Kendall and Cole; the mother of his children, Vicky VanHorn; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
