Paul F. Merrick Johnson City: Paul F. Merrick, age 58, of Johnson City, NY died Thursday April 17, 2014 at Wilson Hospital, Johnson City, NY. Friends may call from 3-4 p.m. Saturday (Apr. 26) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Lucinda O'Leary officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Stream Cemetery, Rock Stream, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to an animal shelter of your choice. Paul was born December 3, 1955 in Montour Falls, NY, the son of the late Dana and Esther Stenberg Merrick. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1974, and from Herkimer College with an Associates Degree, before graduating from Simmons School of Mortuary Science in 1978. On June 21, 1997 in Rock Stream, NY he married the former Shela K. Cummings. A former employee for Unisource, he was currently employed as the Service Manager of Riley Maintenance Systems, in Endwell, NY. He enjoyed working on radio controlled scale model boats as well as online gaming. He spent many hours at his family home in Rock Stream He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 16 years Shela K. Merrick at home; a daughter Abigail J. Cokely of Bethlehem, PA; several cousins: an aunt, Hope Decker; an uncle, William Shepard; a second mom, Alma Decker; dear friends, Dennis (Linda) Decker, Charles (Marie) Van Heusen, Lorraine (Bruce) Furguson, and John (Michelle) Scardella, in-laws Lewis and Beverly Cummings.
