Norma L. Mehlenbacher Dundee: Norma L. Mehlenbacher, age 88, of Dundee, NY died peacefully Thursday, March 14 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Norma was born on October 22, 1930 in the town of Grove to the late George and Lucille Barney. She graduated from Nunda High School in 1948. On October 6, 1951 in Salamanca, NY she married Gordon W. Mehlenbacher. Norma and Gordon moved to Dundee in 1957 where they raised their family and were well known members of the community. Norma was a member of the Dundee United Methodist Church. In her time in Dundee, she was employed at the Masonic Lanes, Markson's Department Store and as Dundee Deputy Village Clerk. In retirement, Norma and Gordon enjoyed traveling with her twin sister and brother in law George. She delighted in her 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and her little dog Bowie. She is survived by 3 sons, Michael (Sue), of Waxahachie, TX, Bruce (Lisa), of Jacksonville, TX, Greg (Rhonda), of Sugar Land, TX; 2 daughters, Kathy (John) Miles of Watkins Glen, NY, and Karen (Paul) Brown of Dundee, NY. 10 grandchildren, Lacey (Mike) Baird, Mycah (Dustin) Lowrey, Matthew (Alanna), Molly and Emily (Ben Shepherd) Mehlenbacher, Joshua and Joel Skorusa, Hannah (Preston) Washburn, Mason (Mackenzie Bailey) and Haley (Jon Eagley) Brown; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Ruth Barney of Avon, NY; several nieces and nephews; and her home care giver Hannah Henderson. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Gordon on Nov. 30, 2010; brother, Kempton Barney; and her twin sister Lorma Rathbun on February 18 of this year. Honoring her wishes there are no calling hours. The family will be celebrating Norma privately at their convenience.
