Myra Jeanne Wood Montour Falls: Myra Jeanne Wood, age 84, formerly of The Falls Home in Montour Falls, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday September 17, 2023 at the Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility, in Montour Falls. There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service for the family will be held on Thursday Sept. 21 in Rural Cemetery, Hornell, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Schuyler County Humane Society 124 Marina Dr. Montour falls, NY 14865. Myra was born January 31, 1939 in Williamsport, PA, the daughter of the late Harold and Mary Jeanette (Severson) Wood I. Myra was a special woman, who enjoyed life to its fullest despite the challenges she was faced with. She loved people, parties, going out for dinner, and her wine. She enjoyed coloring, was a huge Elvis fan, and listening to all forms of western country music. She is loved and survived by a sister in law Mrs. Kathy Wood II of Hornell; a brother in law John H. 'Jack' Phillips of Hammondsport; 2 nephews Harold M. 'Scott' (Sue) Wood III of N. Hornell, NY, John H. (Candice) Phillips of Corning, and niece Stacey L. (Russell) Mallette of Watkins Glen; along with several great nieces and great nephews. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family having been pre-deceased by a brother Jeffrey Lynn Wood in 1994; her mother in 1995, her father in 2003, a sister Margaret Ann 'Peggy' Phillips in 2016, and a brother Harold M.
