Michael G. Nolan Sr.
Dundee: Michael G. Nolan Sr., age 78, of Dundee, NY died Monday January 30, 2012 at Highland at Brighton, in Rochester, NY.
Honoring his wishes there are no prior calling hours. A memorial mass will be held at 12:00 noon Sat. (Feb. 4) at St Michaels Catholic Church, 312 Liberty Street, Penn Yan with Father Jeff Tunnicliff officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, Penn Yan, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Michaels Catholic Church, 210 Keuka Street, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
Michael was born April 10, 1933 in Canandaigua, NY, the son of the late Michael and Olive Adams Nolan. He graduated from Victor High School in 1950. On May 28, 1955 in Sacred Heart Church in Rochester, he married the mother of his children, Frances Hack; she passed away on July 23, 1983. They had lived locally since 1979, previously of Canandaigua, NY. On November 24, 1983, in Dundee, he married the former Marilyn Brahm; she passed away on November 4, 2010. A self employed Dairy Farmer, they operated their own farm, in Rock Stream for many years.
Mr. Nolan was a member of the former St. Andrews Catholic Church of Dundee, and had been attending St Michaels Catholic Church, in Penn Yan. A loving father and grandfather, he enjoyed playing cards, and spending time with loved ones.
He is loved and will be dearly missed by 5 sons Michael (Yvonne King) Nolan Jr., Gerald (Dorothy) Nolan, Daniel (Laurie) Nolan, Thomas (Ann) Nolan, David (Kelly) Nolan; 3 daughters Michelle (Mitch) Niewiadomski, Denise (William) Multer, Maureen (Gary) Travis; 2 step daughters Cheryl (Will) Perez, Sandra (Neil) Bangor; 28 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a brother Donald (Ann) Nolan; 2 sisters Judith Whittaker, Mary (George) McRae; In-laws Agnes Nolan, Bernice Lindsay, Harold Decker; several nieces, nephews; and special friends Chuck and Sandy Lehman, and Millie O'Neil.
He was pre-deceased by 2 brothers James and Leon Nolan.
