Mary E. (Sample) Veden Montour Falls: Mary E. (Sample) Veden, age 89, formerly of The Falls Home in Montour Falls, NY died Saturday September 23, 2023 at Schuyler Hospital. Friends and family are invited to calling hours from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Saturday (Oct. 14) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Mary was born October 16, 1933 in Dundee, NY, the daughter of the late Lee R. and Bertha May (Beyea) Sample. A housewife, and mother of 7; she has lived locally since 2008, previously of Rochester, NY where she had lived for 30 years. An avid bowler for most of her life, having competed in leagues for many years, Mary loved any kind of dancing, but really showed that passion when Line Dancing. Predeceased by her husband Manuel N. Veden on March 1, 1995; she is survived by 4 sons Anthony 'Tony' (Sherry) Ventra, and Santo 'Sammy' Ventra both of Watkins Glen, NY, Bill (Gail) Daniels of Farmington, NY, Michael Ventra of Canandaigua, NY; 3 daughters Nancy (Alex) Wier of Houston, TX, twin sister to Anthony Anne (Donald) Dickinsen of North Fort Myers, FL, Debbie A. (Harold Jacobs) Manley of Palmyra, NY; 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
