Mary A. ‘Peach' Pierce

Dundee: Mary A. 'Peach' Pierce, age 81, of Dundee, NY passed away unexpectedly on Thursday September 24, 2026 at Geneva General Hospital.

Friends are invited to calling hours from 4-7 pm Monday Sept. 28 at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday Sept. 29 at the Dundee United Methodist Church, 35 Water Street Dundee with Rev. Beckie Laumeier officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

Mary was born Dec. 13, 1944 in Elmira, N.Y., the daughter of the late Harold C. and Mary E. (Brewster) Flood. She graduated from Dundee Central School in the class of 1962, and has always been involved with the Reunion and Alumni committees. She continued her education graduating from Elmira Business School, and furthered it even more taking classes at the former Community College of the Finger Lakes. After raising her daughters she entered the work force at Shaw Oil in Penn Yan before accepting a position with Transelco in Dresden where she worked until being hired at Finger Lakes Gaming & Race Track. She ended her working career as a teller for Five Star Bank, in Dundee.

‘Peach’ as she was fondly known by everyone was a very active member in the Dundee Community and surrounding area. Her faith in the Lord kept her very active in the Dundee United Methodist Church, where she served in many capacities. She volunteered at the Dundee Food Pantry; the Dundee United Fund; helped with the Keuka Comfort Care Home and its Crossing Keuka, as well as Relay for Life. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, attended Bone Builders, and served for the Yates County Election Board. While she was very busy serving the community, it never interfered with the love and time spent with her granddaughters. She enjoyed collecting hats, and going on luncheon dates with her friends, often at Seneca Farms.

She is dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her daughter Machelle L. Kelly of Dundee; 2 granddaughters Ashley L. (Joseph Hoover) Kelly of Dundee, and Alyssa M. (Ethan) Mosher of Rock Stream, 1 precious great granddaughter; a brother John Flood of Dundee; a niece, and 3 cousins.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by a daughter Stephanie L. Pierce in 1986; and the father of her daughters Howard Pierce in 2020.
