Honoring the families wishes, there are no prior calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday Sept. 20 in Second Milo Cemetery, with Rev. Lucinda O'Leary officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Schuyler Hospital Health Foundation, P.O. Box 828, Montour Falls, NY 14865 or to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road North, Rochester, NY 14609-5896. Mary was born January 16, 1935 in Penn Yan, NY, the daughter of the late LaVerne Charles and Austa Webster Richards. On January 20, 1951 in Penn Yan, NY she married the late Guy "Wendall" Dillon, who passed away on October 2, 1996. A life long area resident, Mary had worked in the vineyards for a while when not being totally consumed with raising her family of 12 children. After they were grown and all on their own she took a position in the Housekeeping Dept. of Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, NY, where she worked until she was 75, retiring in 2010. Mrs. Dillon enjoyed attending Lakemont Congregational Christian Church with her son Terry; she was a member of the Penn Yan V.F.W. Ladies Aux., and enjoyed all kinds of arts and crafts, bingo night, and casino's. But her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by 4 sons Wendall "Joe" (Mary) Dillon of Bradford, Dan John (Beverly) Dillon of Bath, Terry Charles (Perrin) Dillon of Lakemont, Scott Jeffery (Idelle) Dillon of Penn Yan; 7 daughters Judy A. Dillon of Gaston, SC, Elsie Jane Briggs of Dundee, Joy M. Gee of Watkins Glen, Eileen R. Schultz of Lima, NY, Cherie L. Dillon of Dundee, and Anna E. (Walt) Dyson of Dundee; 28 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; and countless nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by 3 grandchildren, Billy & Karen Gee in 1982, Nicholas Dillon in 2005; a son Richard Allen Dillon on Oct. 4, 2001; and 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Arrangements are entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. Online condolences can be sent by visiting www.bairdfuneralhomedundee.com.
