Mary W. Cosier Fort Myers FL/Tyrone, NY: Marietta "Mary" Wasson Cosier, age 99, of Fort Myers, formerly of Lehigh Acres, FL and Tyrone, NY, died Wednesday September 2, 2015 at Lee Memorial Hospital, in Fort Myers. She was born on June 16, 1916 in Hornby, New York, to the late John and Louise Travis Wasson; but was raised by her Aunt Effie Wasson, due to the untimely death of her mother when she was six months old. She graduated from Corning Senior High School. On April 15, 1939, in Corning, she married the late Marvin M. Cosier and they enjoyed 46 wonderful years together, until his passing on March 25, 1985. Mary was employed by Corning Glass Works as a line supervisor, retiring in 1960. She has resided in Florida since 1982. Mary had been active in many organizations; the Corning VFW Ladies Aux. Post # 524; Corning Woman of the Moose # 326; Lehigh Acres American Legion Aux. Post #323; as well as the General Woman's Club in Lehigh Acres, the Lehigh Country Club; and Lehigh Acres Senior Center. Travelling to fairs and festivals delighted her. She especially liked the tulip festival in Michigan, hot air ballooning in New York, and seeing moose in Vermont. She loved country music, going to concerts, doing crossword puzzles and playing board games with good friends at her northern home on Waneta Lake. She is survived by nieces, nephews and a team of loving caregivers. She was predeceased by a brother Thomas J. Wasson killed in action during World War II, and 2 sisters, Anna Barrett on Dec. 10, 1991, and Sarah Wren on Nov. 8, 2005. Calling hours were from 12:00 noon -1:00 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 9) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Burial followed in Tyrone Union Cemetery, Tyrone, NY. Her Florida friends are invited to a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 29 in the 4th Floor Chapel of 'The Palms' 2674 Winkler Ave. Fort Myers, FL.
