Marsha D. Wertz

Tampa, FL./Dundee, NY: Marsha D. Wertz, age 71, of Tampa, FL was struck by a car while crossing the street and died tragically, on Wednesday March 7, 2018. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Honoring her wishes there are no prior calling hours.  A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 5, 2018 at the Dundee Baptist Church 20 Seneca Street, Dundee, NY.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607 for either Springfield MA, or Tampa FL, Hospitals.

Marsha was born January 21, 1947 in Danville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Jay Wertz and Bettie {Tillinghast} Wertz - Dunkelberger. Her father passed away before she was born, and so she was raised by her mom's second husband the late Charles R. Dunkelberger who loved her as his own. She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1965, and went on to earn her Licensed Practical Nursing Certification. Marsha worked as an LPN for many years in both Chicopee, Massachusetts and Tampa, Florida. She retired and lived in Tampa, Florida.

She was a volunteer for the Rough Rider's Teddy Bear Run, Shriner's hospital and various other Gasparilla-krewe in Tampa.

She is loved and will be missed by her son Christopher F. Hoime of Myrtle Beach, SC; 2 daughters Kimberly A. Dziel of Chicopee, MA, and Elizabeth Hoime Murphy of Millis, MA; 5 grandchildren Tyler Hoime, Caroline and Jackson Dziel, Liam and Rachael Murphy; 2 great grandchildren Alexandria and Owen Hoime; 3 sisters Nancy J. (Robert) Brancato of Kenmore, NY, Barbara J. Katz of Rochester, NY, Yvonne E. (Leonard) Jordan Jr. of Aurora, NY; a brother Thomas W. (Leslie) Dunkelberger of Dundee; numerous nieces and nephews.
