Mark Andrew Sutherland Himrod: Mark Andrew Sutherland, age 74, of Himrod, NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 17th 2021 at home. Mark was born on January 11, 1947 in Elmira, NY, son of the late William G. & Hilda M. (Fries) Sutherland. He graduated from Bradford High School in 1965. He then served in the US Army from 1968-1970 as a Specialist 4th Class Electrical and Diesel Engineer. On December 14th 1991, he married the former Marilyn "Lynn" S. Goldsmith. Mark retired from Cam Sutherland & Sons Construction, having worked with them for over 35 years. He enjoyed racing of all kinds, but mostly building his own race car and watching his son behind the wheel of it. He is loved and will be forever missed by his wife of almost 30 years, Marilyn G. Sutherland; his children, Barbara Sutherland, Quinn (Christine) Sutherland, Heather (Nick) Sorce, Shawn (Kerri) Searles, Jennifer (Scott) Ingerick, Kristie (Amanda) Sutherland & Kimberly Sutherland; his grandchildren, Amber (Casey) Martin, Erika (Joshua) Kirkendall, Luke Fowler, Megan Sutherland, Kaitlyn Ingerick, James Sorce who fondly referred to Mark as "g-dog", Nicky Sorce, Micaela Sorce, Sophia Sorce and Elijah Searles; great grandchildren, Felicia-Mae Foss and Alexis Martin; siblings, Jean Chrysler, Billy Sutherland, Gail (Dennis) Sutherland-Reed, Paul (Sue) Sutherland, Scott (Kelli) Sutherland; sister-in-law April Sutherland; numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Lynne Sutherland, his brother Cameron Sutherland and his son Jeffrey Searles. A Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Seneca Lake Duck Hunter's Club, 2188 State Route 14, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
