Mark C. Collins
Dundee: Mark C. Collins, age 74, of Dundee, NY passed away at Schuyler Hospital, in Montour Falls, N.Y. from injuries sustained in a farm accident on Tuesday May 20, 2025.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Tuesday, May 27 at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 28 at St Michael's Catholic Church, 312 Liberty Street, Penn Yan with Deacon Roger Loucks officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837, or the Penn Yan Agriculture and Future Farmers of America 305 Court St. Penn Yan, NY 14527.
Mark was born October 20, 1950 in Springfield, MA, the son of the late Warren A. and Elva (Grant) Collins. He has lived locally since 1968, previously of Ellington, CT. He graduated with an Associate's Degree in Agriculture from SUNY Morrisville. On Aug. 12, 1981 in Frederick, MD he married the former Susan E. Cross.
Mark has been a farmer all his life, having been a dairy farmer with his brother Paul at Windy Field Farm and then starting his own farm in 1985. He transitioned from dairy cows to beef cattle, hay and small grain farming. He was a former member of Farm Bureau and the Penn Yan Flying Club.
He is loved and will be terribly missed by his wife of 43 years Susan E. Collins DVM, Retired of Dundee, NY; 4 children - son Jason M. Collins of Alexandria, VA, daughters Maureen K.(Bernardo Almeida) Collins of Boston, MA and Dundee, NY, and Emily T. (Phil) Bofia of Waterville, ME, and son Andrew J. Collins currently at home in Dundee; 4 grandchildren Lila, Tess, and Joshua Almeida and Xander Bofia; Mark's brother Arthur K. (Joyce) Collins of Waukesha, WI, and his sister Kathleen Collins of Shapleigh, ME; along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Paul G. Collins in 2015, and a nephew Brandon M. Clark-Collins in 2021.
