Marcell Anthony Cross Dundee: Marcell Anthony Cross, age 72, of Dundee, NY passed away on Monday August 14, 2023 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He survived a long battle with leukemia, finally succumbing to glioblastoma. His fight was strong right to the end as he lived his life. Honoring his wishes there will be no prior calling hours. A memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday August 26, 2023 at St. Mary's of the Lake Parish, 905 N. Decatur St., Watkins Glen, NY with Father Jeffrey Tunnicliff officiating. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Marcell was born November 17, 1950 in West Orange, New Jersey, the son of the late Anthony Carl and Helen Elaina (January) Cross. Growing up, attending schools in the Oranges, before moving to Parsippany. Marcell worked for the railroad in his younger years, leaving to work as a heavy equipment operator for Grasso Construction in East Hanover, New Jersey. Leaving Parsippany to move to Dundee in 1986 Marcell worked in HVAC for a while before returning to construction with R.L. Perry Construction. He retired in 2017, from B.M.S. (Bill's Machine Shop) in Watkins Glen. Mr. Cross was a dedicated, loving family man. His first love and passion was always putting his daughter and grandchildren first. He loved his Pugs with his whole heart. In his younger years, he was a major muscle car fan and owner; he rode motorcycle; fishing, cooking, talking on the HAM radio, and was a hobbyist. He is loved and will be forever missed by his only daughter Lisa Marie (Randy) Howell; a granddaughter Samantha Marie (Dustin) Warren all of Dundee; his grandson Nicholas Marcel (Mackenzie Cahill) Gavigan of Canandaigua; 2 great granddaughters Avery Marie and Madison Briella Warren; a sister Helen M. (Robert) Druker of Dundee, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was pre-deceased by a sister Marie Annette Baker; and a brother Anthony Cross.
