Lloyd Richard Snyder Dundee: Lloyd Richard Snyder, age 91, of Dundee, NY died Sunday January 13, 2019 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday (Jan. 18) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Baptist Church, 20 Seneca Street, Dundee, NY 14837. Lloyd was born July 27, 1927 in Mentor, Ohio, the son of the late Albert and Della Clark Snyder. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in Korea. On June 12, 1948, he married the former Barbara L. Cadiou. They had two children whom they raised in Ohio before moving to New York in 1974. She passed away on March 28, 1989. He returned to Mentor, OH to marry longtime family friend Sharlene Kidwell Pettet on Feb. 24, 1990, merging their families as one. She also predeceased him on January 26, 2011. Mr. Snyder was a self-employed contractor specializing in plaster walls and home construction for over 35 years, retiring in 2004. A devoted member of the Dundee Baptist Church, he enjoyed tinkering in his spare time; but his greatest joy, was time spent with Grand and Great Grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter Lynda L. (Steven) Lopresti of Montour Falls; his son Richard K. (Susan) Snyder of Melbourne, Australia; stepdaughter Patricia Floro of Mentor, OH, stepsons Gary R. (Darla) Pettet of Raleigh, NC, and James W. Pettet of N. Fort Myers, FL; 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, and two wives he was pre-deceased by a younger brother Harold Snyder of Ohio, and an older brother Melvin Snyder of New Mexico.
