Leslie S. Irwin Himrod: Leslie S. "Les" Irwin, age 45, of Himrod, NY passed away unexpectedly on Sunday November 30, 2014 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY. Friends are invited to calling hour from 5-8 pm Thursday (Dec. 4) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where his funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday (Dec. 5) with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Central School Sports Boosters, P.O. Box 53, Dundee, NY 14837. Leslie was born July 7, 1969 in Corning, NY, the son of Harold L. and Jean M. Trank Irwin. He attended Dundee Central School, played several sports, and graduated with honors from the school of "Hard Knocks". Les was the founder, former driver, and current sponsor of Lew Baby Motorsports of Himrod. He was also the proprietor of the former Irwin Disposal of Himrod; until he was disabled by health issues. He enjoyed playing softball, hunting, antique cars, and being a "Diehard" Pittsburg Steelers fan. But his true passion was dirt track racing, which he lovingly coached and provided the opportunity and his knowledge to his son Lance. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his 2 sons Nicholas R. Irwin, Lance L. Irwin both at home; a daughter Shaman Blood of Penn Yan; his mother Jean M. Irwin of Himrod, a brother Dale L. (Christine) Irwin of Reading Center, NY, niece Courtney Irwin; nephew Matthew Irwin; his dear friend and companion Janine Brink and her son Gavin; the mother of his sons Missy Irwin all of Himrod, his very best friends Jack Ayers, Alf Clark, Roy Gavigan, and John Burd; several aunts, uncles & cousins; along with countless more friends.
