Lawrence M. 'Larry' Howell Dundee: Lawrence Matthew 'Larry' Howell, age 62, of Dundee, NY passed away Wednesday November 29, 2023 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, N.Y. surrounded by his loved ones. Honoring his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A memorial service and Fireman's service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Saturday May 11, 2024, at the Dundee United Methodist Church, 35 Water Street Dundee with Judy Duquette officiating. A celebration of His Life will follow at the Dundee Fire Department 12 Union St. Dundee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Larry was born Oct. 2, 1961 in Montour Falls, NY, the son of the late Warren J. and Vivian D. (Mathews) Howell. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1980. On March 13, 1982, Larry married his high school sweetheart Teresa K. Miller in a private ceremony held in Dundee. His working career began at Mercury Aircraft in Wayne, NY; but his true passion and expertise was farming, and over the years he worked at several area dairy farms, beginning with Nolan Farms, then the Gernold Farm in Dundee, followed by Purdy Farms in Canandaigua. He even worked for a period in the vineyard business at Fulkerson Vineyard. His final job before health issues forced his early retirement was in Ag Management with Seneca Foods in Geneva, NY until 2019. Mr. Howell was a dedicated long time member of Dundee Fire Company and Dundee Emergency Squad, as well as the Dundee Fireman's Benevolent Association. He will be long remembered for his unselfish service to the Village of Dundee, having served on the Village Board from 2008-2023. He will be loved forever by his wife of 41 years, Teresa K. Howell at home; 2 sons, Nathan Howell, and Daniel (Brianne) Howell; 4 daughters Jacqueline Scott 'Honey' Slavick, Ashley (Michael) Foster, Taylor (Zach) Sullivan, and Lauren (Mackenzie) Prior. He was a proud grandfather of 10, Madelyn 'Maddie', and Greyson 'Grey-Grey' Howell, Sierra 'Willie' and Nicholas 'Bobob' Slavick, Amelia 'Gracie' and Nolan 'Nols' Foster, Bridgette 'Tooker' and Raegan 'Nanana' Sullivan, Mason 'Mase' and Kelsey 'Chitter' Prior. He will be missed dearly by his 5 siblings, Janet Lanphear, Warren (Wanda) Howell, Susan (Robert) Lanphear, Cindy (Kevin Prior) Meyers, and Joyce Miller; along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Dale Howell, in-laws Jack & Marjorie Miller, and brother in laws Terry and Corey Miller.
