John G. Bryant Dundee: John G. Bryant, age 78, of Dundee, NY died Friday, December 6, 2013 with his family at his side in the comfort of his home. Honoring his wishes there will be no calling hours and no services have been scheduled at the present time. John was born April 14, 1935 in Avis, PA, the son of Orie L. and Sarah Edwards Bryant. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956, after which he moved to Dundee. On January 30, 1960, in Dundee, NY, he married the former Edna M. Morrow. He worked for Seneca Foods for 10 years before accepting a position with Transelco (Ferro Corporation) in Dresden, NY in 1968. He retired from Ferro Corporation in 1999 after 31 years of employment. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, wood working, hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with all of his grandchildren. He is deeply loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of nearly 54 years, Edna M. Bryant at home; 3 daughters: Kathleen A. Berry of Albion, NY, Laurie M. Bryant also at home, Mary K. Bryant of Elmira, NY; 4 grandchildren: Corey P. Bryant, Ashlee M. Fahr, Ryan C. Grippin, and Brittainy K. Grippin; a great granddaughter, Cheyenne E. Mathews: a sister Bertha Bell of Penn Yan; 3 sisters -in-law; Virginia Johnson, Carol Cotten and Jane Morrow: special friends Doug and Leola Gould: several nieces and nephews and his furry friend, Dammit Kitty. He was pre-deceased by his parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, and his favorite in-laws, Marjorie E. and Stephen F. Morrow. Arrangements were entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street Dundee.
