Joan W. Boyce

Dundee: Joan W. Boyce, age 87, of Dundee, NY died Friday September 28, 2018 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Penn Yan, NY.

Friends are invited to calling hours from 4-6 pm Monday (Oct. 1) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where her funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm with Rev. Marilyn Wood officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Library, 32 Water St., or the Dundee United Methodist Church, 35 Water St., Dundee, NY 14837.

Joan was born March 11, 1931 in East Orange, NJ, the daughter of the late Fritz and Mary {Tolley} Wahlers. On Aug. 22, 1953 she married Franklin T. Boyce Sr. Moving to Dundee and having a Masters Degree in Teaching, Joan was an Elementary School Teacher employed by Dundee Central School, until her retirement in the mid 1980's. Mrs. Boyce was a very active and dedicated member of Dundee United Methodist Church, along with the Red Hat Society, and Dundee Library Woman's Study Club.  In her spare time when she wasn't baking cookies, reading or playing cards, she loved walking on her property.

She is loved and will be dearly missed by her husband of 65 years Frank T. Boyce Sr. currently of Penn Yan; 3 sons F. Thomas Boyce Jr. of Branchport, John Richard "Rick" Boyce, and Robert W. "Bob" Boyce both of Dundee; a grandson Richard T. "Ricky" (Monika) Boyce of Yorktown, VA; granddaughter Susan L. (Andrew) Visiko of Penn Yan; 4 great grandchildren Annabelle E. Boyce, Kimberly R. Visiko, Richard A. "Dickie" Boyce, and Victoria Ann Boyce; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by a brother Richard Wahlers.
