Joan Ellen Belles Himrod: Joan Ellen Belles (Marsh), passed away peacefully at home in Himrod, NY on July 7, 2023 at the age of 82. Joan was born September 12th, 1940 in Rochester, NY. After graduating college she drove cross country to San Francisco where she met her late husband Ron and on March 8, 1964 they married in Reno, Nevada. Soon after, they returned east to raise their family in Perinton, NY. She owned and operated BTW Overhead Door Co. and Seneca Drums Mobile Home Park along with her late husband. Joan and Ronnie retired to Seneca Lake and also wintered in Melaque, Mexico with many dear friends at the Santa Maria. She was a master basket weaver, passionate basketry instructor, talented jewelry artist, avid gardener and anything that kept her mind and hands busy. Joan traveled often and adored Frida Kahlo, the Mexican people & their culture. The chilly waters of Seneca Lake, was her favorite place in the world. She volunteered her time with local organizations such as the Arts Center of Yates County, the American Red Cross and the Yates County Republicans. Joan is predeceased by her husband Ronald R. Belles, her son Gregory R. Belles, her parents Clyde C. & Erma R. Marsh and her siblings Nancy Bertino and Jerry Marsh. Joan leaves behind her children: Kathy Belles Marra of Perinton, Jeff (Julie) Belles of Canandaigua and Chrissy Belles of East Rochester. She is survived by her loving grandchildren Cody (Renee) Belles & Casey (Katie) Belles; Bryan, Scott & Tyler Marra; Mark, Matthew & Michael Belles and Olivia Premo. great grandchildren, Zeppelin Belles, Landon Marra, Kennedy & Colton Belles; along with many nieces, nephews & treasured friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Himrod Fire Department, 3530 Himrod Rd., Himrod, NY 14842 A celebration of Joan's life will be held at 3282 North Plum Point, Himrod, NY on Saturday July 22 at 2:00 pm.
