Janice Bail Ryan
Dundee: Janice Bail Ryan, 90 died October 13, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. She was born March 23, 1925 in Boston, Massachusetts to Mary Kimball and Malcolm P. Bail. Her childhood was spent in Newtonville, Massachusetts. She graduated from Smith College, class of 1946. While a senior at Smith she met her future husband, Richard "Dick" Ryan. They were married in June, 1947 and led a very happy 68 years of life together. Janice and Dick eventually settled in Geneva, where Dick taught at Hobart and William Smith Colleges for 35 years; while Janice worked for the Ontario County Department of Social Services for 21 years as a child protective case worker.
In 1990 Janice and Dick retired to the Dundee, NY area. They had their new home built on a bluff over-looking Seneca Lake. For 21 years they delivered Meals-on-Wheels for Yates County. Janice also served on the town planning board for nine years.
Janice is survived by her husband; sons Jonathan (Ann Sill) of Venice Center, NY; Stephen (Mary Fisher) of Ithaca, NY; daughter Barbara Ryan also of Ithaca, five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

The family is very appreciative and grateful to the people of Ontario/Yates Hospice, who made this very difficult time more endurable.
