Irene Marie 'Renie' Strait Dundee: Irene Marie Strait, age 79, of Dundee, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday May 18, 2023 in the comfort of her home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to6:00 p.m. Thursday June 1, at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Inurnment will be in private in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee, NY. Irene was born on September 7, 1943 in Watkins Glen, NY, to the late Stella P. (Davis) Long and Robert Cunningham. She went to high school at Dundee Central and graduated in 1962. She worked as a Production Line Worker for Seneca Foods, was the proud owner of Ken's Luncheonette and the Deli Manager at Giles Shurfine. She enjoyed ceramics, reading, bird watching, gardening, cooking, and feeding anyone and everyone. She is loved and will be forever missed by her husband of 61 years, Robert F. Strait Sr.; her son Mark J. (Christine) Strait; daughter Susan B. (Marie) Andersen-Strait; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren Michael (Emily) Strait, with children Cooper and Madilyn Strait; Cassandra, Bobby, and Mackenzie Strait, Thea, Demerick, Marcus, and Emerson Anderson-Strait; her dearest sisters Sue (John) Cornish and Nancy (Ray) Carruthers; special niece Jessica Porter Paquette; and several other nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by daughter, Pauline and son, Robert Jr. The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to Susan King, Amy Francione, and all from the UR Medicine Hospice team.
