Irene L. Bennett Brink Himrod: Irene L. Bennett Brink, age 64, of Himrod, NY passed away Thursday May 17, 2018 in the comfort her home. There are no prior calling hours. A Celebration of Her Life will begin at 1:00 pm Sunday June 3, 2018 at the Dundee V.F.W. Seneca St. Extension, Dundee, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ontario-Yates County Hospice Assoc., 756 Pre-Emption Rd., Geneva, NY 14456; or the Keuka Comfort Care Home, P.O. Box, 107, Penn Yan, NY 14527. Irene was born January 18, 1954 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Donald and Aileen Houck Bennett. She graduated from Elmira Free Academy in 1972. On Nov. 11, 1978 in Dresden, N.Y. she married Jan K. Brink. She was employed as a Day Treatment Aide for over 15 years by Schuyler ARC, Watkins Glen, until her health forced her to retire in 2005. Irene enjoyed being a care giver, loved to cook, and play bingo; but her greatest happiness was being a grandmother, and spending time with her grandson who was the "love of her life". She is survived by her husband of 39 years Jan K. Brink at home, her daughter Janine I. Brink with whom she made her home; her son Garrett J. Brink of Dundee; her grandson Gavin L. Brink, at home; a sister Sharon A. (Mike) Birdsall of Elmira; a niece Kelly A. (Jasen) Gray of Elmira; a nephew William E. Birdsall of Waynesboro, PA; and many aunts, uncles & cousins.
