Helen L. Matwiejow Dixon Dundee/Tyrone: Helen L. Dixon, age 85, died unexpectedly July 31, 2024 at Cayuga Medical Hospital. She was born April 19, 1939 in Tyrone, N.Y.; the daughter of the late Walter and Luella (Mathews) Matwiejow. Helen graduated from Dundee Central High School, Class of 1958. She married her high school sweet heart Richard F. Dixon on February 2, 1958. They celebrated 51 years of marriage, before he passed away on August 19, 2009. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by 2 sisters, Josephine, and Lynn, and 3 brothers Stanley, Louie, and Alex. She is survived by her four children Samuel Dixon of Reading Center, Cindy (Rick) Scheepsma of Sebring, FL, Randy (Michelle) Dixon, and Sandra Dixon both of Tyrone, NY; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. Honoring her wishes, there were no calling hours. A service of Remembrance and Celebration of Her Life will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday August 4, 2024 at Paradise Park Campground 4150 Cross Road, Rock Stream, NY 14878.
