Harvey E. Dencenburg Dundee: Harvey E. Dencenburg, age 98, of Dundee, NY died Tuesday January 30, 2018 at Geneva Living Center North, Geneva, NY. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday (Feb. 5) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday (Feb. 6) at the Dundee Baptist Church, 20 Seneca Street, Dundee with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. Memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Baptist Church, 20 Seneca Street, or the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Harvey was born February 15, 1919 in the town of Tyrone, NY, one of two sons of the late Charles A. and Margaret L. {McIntyre} Dencenburg. On Nov. 22, 1975 in Bath, N.Y. he married the former Lena E. Hamilton, who passed away on Jan. 26, 1997. A dairy farmer in his younger years, he was employed by Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport for 18 years, retiring as a sheet metal finisher in 1980. Mr. Dencenburg was a member of the Dundee Baptist Church, a long-time member of the former Crystal Valley Grange #1503, the Pamona Grange, along with the N.Y. State & National Grange, and the Smith Pond Sportsman Club, and joined the "43 Main Street Band" at the age of 90. He is survived by a niece and her family Joan (Bob) Wilson of Bath, dear friend and caregiver Sally Moore of Dundee; several cousins, and many friends at The Terrace Dundee, fellow musicians from the band, and patrons and staff of The Classic Café, and Crossing Diner. Besides his wife, and parents, he was predeceased by his brother and sister in law, Harry (Reliance) Dencenburg; and niece Lucille Kinney.
