Harold Lewis Wright Sr. Dundee: Harold Lewis Wright Sr., age 82, of Dundee, NY passed away suddenly on Wednesday October 23, 2019 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY. The family will receive friends from 7:00-7:30 p.m. with a memorial service following on Monday (Oct. 28) at the Faith Baptist Church, 13 Harpending Ave., Dundee, with Pastors Lawrence and David Semans officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Harold was born May 27, 1937 in Croghan, NY, one of 5 children of the late Lewis R. and Bethaldo {Chamberlain} Wright. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1955-1959. On Jan. 13, 1961 in Sarasota, FL he married the former Marie Jean McClure. They lived in Florida; North, & South Carolina before moving to Tyrone in 1971 to own a dairy farm until 1999. After retiring from farming, he relocated to Dundee and spent the last 20 years working for Swarthout Recycling, whom he considers a second family. A faithful, devoted, active member of the Faith Baptist Church, his family and church were the most important things in his life. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years Marie M. Wright at home; 2 daughters Anna Marie M. Wright of Stanley, Patricia W. (Timothy Spaulding) Nash of Chesapeake, VA; a son Harold L. Wright Jr. of Buffalo, NY; 2 grandsons Stephen Nash of California, Jonathan Nash of South Carolina; 2 brothers Jack Wright of Millerton, PA, Thomas (Johnnie) Wright of Florence, S.C.; a sister-in-law Marie Wright of Dundee; and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister Libbie Wright, and a brother Nathan Wright. Arrangements entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
