Harold O. Maier
December 21, 1929 - April 11, 2012
Harold "Harry" O. Maier, 82, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in New
Brunswick.
Born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Harry married and moved to East Brunswick in the
early 1960s to raise his family. Harry was a skilled craftsman, electrician and mechanic.
After his retirement from a successful career with the General Motors Corporation, he
relocated to Dundee, New York and assumed the position of Fire Inspector. Harry went
on to serve as Building Inspector in Penn Yan, New York well into the 1990s. Harry
relocated to Edison, New Jersey after the death of his wife, Dolores Maier. Harry always
lived his never-give-up attitude, even as his health declined over a period of several
years.
Harry is survived by his brother, Donald, and his wife Joan; his daughters Debbie
Breitweiser and Pam Plavnicky and her husband Rick; his grandchildren Leah
Breitweiser and Damian Plavnicky; his great-grandson Douglas Sabosik, Jr.; his sister-inlaw
Barbara Maier and several nieces and nephews; his beloved cat Stormy.
In accordance with Harry's wishes, there will be no public viewing. Harry will rest with
his wife in Penn Yan, New York.
