Gilbert was born August 6, 1966 in the town of Urbana, NY, the son of Gilbert A. and Donna K. Walrath Mathews. He attended the United Presbyterian Church of Hornell, NY. He is loved and will be missed by a son "Jake" Mathews and a daughter "Allie" Mathews both of Lindley, his parents Gilbert A. and Donna K. Mathews, a sister Gillian (Fred) Campbell, and a brother Greg W. (Yvonne) Mathews all of Savona; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was pre-deceased by brother Garrick J. Mathews in 2004. Honoring the family wishes there will be no prior calling hours. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
