Dundee: Gerald E. ''Jerry'' Crans, age 88, of Dundee, NY died Wednesday July 12, 2017 at home surrounded by family.
Friends are invited to calling hours from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon Monday (July 17) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where his funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon with Pastor Dale Eby officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

Jerry was born August 13, 1928 in Dundee, N.Y. to the late Leo and Florence (Storms) Crans. He attended Dundee Central School before joining first the Army and then the Navy. He married June Perna on July 29th, 1956. He worked as a truck driver first for Millard Dairy and for many years at Penn Yan Express. His free time was spent remodeling and woodworking and spending time with family and friends. In his later years, he was a fixture with his friends at the Classic Café having coffee every afternoon before visiting his daughters at their shop. He was a man of strength and character and he fought a long hard battle. He was well loved by so many and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, June (Perna) Crans, daughters Laurie (Robert) Timberman, and Lisa Rosario; son Brian Crans; 4 grandchildren Jillian (Jeffrey) Denmark, Gordan Crans, Aaron Rosario and Sydney Rosario; 5 great grandchildren Zachary and Brighton Grant, Landon, Jeffrey and Cameron Denmark; a sister-in-law Elaine (Stan) Stefanik; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides his parents he was pre-deceased by brothers, Chester (Kay) Crans, Robert (Mary) Crans and Edwin Crans, sisters Virginia (John) Razy, Anna (Kenneth) Scutt and Arlene (Richard) Webster.
