George E. Winegardner
Crystal Valley/Dundee: George E. Winegardner, age 77, of Dundee, formerly of Penn Yan, NY died Saturday September 17, 2011 in the comfort of his home.
Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 22) at the BAIRD FUNERAL HOME, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm with Rev. John Busch officiating. Burial will at the convenience of the family in Lakeview Cemetery, Penn Yan, NY.

George was born April 1, 1934 in Penn Yan, N.Y., the son of the late Fred and Christina Andersen Winegardner. He graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1952. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He was an engine installer employed by Penn Yan Boat Co. in Penn Yan, for many years; and had also worked for Triangle Cab and Ambulance as well as having been a beer distributor many years ago. He enjoyed fishing, riding his scooter, and old movies in his spare time.
Having never married he is loved and will be sadly missed by his Aunt Thelma E. Shipman of Penn Yan; 2 cousins Bill (Melissa) Shipman of Baldwinsville, NY, Phyllis Record of Penn Yan; His "Adopted Family" and loving caregivers Craig and Sue Lane with whom he made his home; and Joe Heitmann of East Greenbush, NY, and his two children Taylor Heitmann, and Dylan Heitmann whom George loved as his own grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by his mother and step father Chris and Harry Brink, and a cousin Christy Shipman.
