Gene Wayne Rhode Dundee: Gene Wayne Rhode, age 59, of Bath, NY gave up his battle with cancer on Monday June 10, 2024 at Ira Davenport Hospital, in Bath, N.Y. with family at his side. There are no prior calling hours. A graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday June 12, 2024 in Hillside Cemetery, in Dundee, with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company 12 Union St. Dundee, NY 14837. Gene was born January 5, 1965 in Batavia, NY, the son of the late George Rhode Sr. and Melvina E. Johnson, and was raised as the son of the late R. Walter Arva. He moved to Casper Wyoming after High School; and worked as a car salesman and a welder. He eventually found his calling as a truck driver, having worked for numerous employers including, Rist Trucking, Pathway Trucking, Dudley Poultry, Cassella Sanitation, and lastly as a Forklift operator for Dundee Foods. Gene loved his time spent, and the friendships made during his membership of the Dundee Fire Company. He is survived by 3 children, Christopher (Dianna) Culver, Jonathon Rhode, and Melvina E. Rhode; 6 siblings Debra Kelley, Patricia (Scott) Mason, Cindy (Kurt) Rissler, Kevin (Cindy) Rhode, George (Patti) Rhode Jr., and Charlene (Donald Allen) Arva; 4 grandchildren Nathaniel, Natalie, Brennan, and Bennett; along with countless nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, and father, he was predeceased by his beloved dog Buffy.
