Gary A. Jayne Dundee: Gary A. Jayne, age 61, of Dundee, NY died Saturday May 16, 2015 at The Homestead, in Penn Yan, N.Y. following a short battle with cancer. Honoring his wishes there are no calling hours. A celebration of his life will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday May 30th at the Dundee American Legion, 10 Spring St., Dundee with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. A spaghetti dinner benefit will follow from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. Inurnment will be in the family lot at Lakemont Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lakemont Cemetery Assoc. P.O. Box 113, Lakemont, NY 14857. Gary was born September 13, 1953 in Penn Yan, NY, the son of the late Lawrence M. "Larry" "L.J." and Mary N. Brantner Jayne. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1971. A lifelong area resident, Gary was employed by Dundee Central School, as a bus driver for many years. He was a member of C.S.E.A. Local Western Region 6. In his spare time he enjoyed studying Civil War History, and cherished many yearly trips to Gettysburg; he loved fishing, playing horseshoes, and Texas Hold-em. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his three children; daughter Corrie A. (Eric) Foust of Averill Park, NY, son Darrin A. (Julie) Jayne of Ithaca, NY, daughter Hollie D. Jayne of Penn Yan, NY, 2 grandchildren Haylie Jayne-Lehman, and Carson Bruno; a sister Peggy A. Hand of Dundee; a brother Gregory T. (Sue Atkins) Jayne of Clayton, NC; uncle Phillip (Cindy) Brantner of Millport, NY; and several nieces. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a younger brother Barry E. Jayne on Jan. 8, 2011.
