Dundee: Floyd Brian Washburn, age 69, of Dundee, NY passed away on Saturday September 19, 2026 at Geneva General Hospital.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of His Life on Saturday Oct. 3, starting at 1:00 pm at the home of his brother Ray, 3528 Harrison Rd., Himrod, NY 14842.

Floyd was born March 15, 1957 in Penn Yan, NY, the oldest son of the late Floyd Frederick and Mildred E. (Hainsworth) Washburn. He served in the US Army from 1976 until his Honorable Discharge in 1979. A lifelong area resident, he worked for many years as a roofer for Allison & Daniels Inc., in Penn Yan, NY. More recently he worked for Roto Salt also in Penn Yan.

A classic car enthusiast, he enjoyed car shows, and driving his old Hudson and 1971 Chevy C-10 he affectionately named ‘Jolene’. He loved his relationships created by being a driver for many local Mennonite families. Being very patriotic Floyd loved eagles, and our countries flag besides collecting them, he also enjoyed collecting Cobalt Blue glass.

He is survived by 3 sons, twins Anthony ‘Tony’ Washburn of Seneca Falls, and Michael (Mackenzie Dier) Washburn of Elmira, and Floyd ‘Fred’ Washburn of Watkins Glen; his daughters Regina L. Washburn of Rock Stream, and Ann Keech who he raised as his own of Bath; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a sister Theresa B. (James) Kellogg, and brother Raymond L. (Brandi) Washburn both of Himrod; several nieces, nephews; his brother from another mother Laverne Hoover of Dundee, and his best friend and fur baby Pogo.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter Ann M. Washburn Ovenshire in 2012; and a sister Luckey C. Gleason in 2022.
