Florence P. Osborne

Dundee: Florence P. ‘Flossie’ Osborne, age 100, of Dundee NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 3 at Geneva General Hospital.

There will be no calling hours, per Florence's wishes, a Celebration of Her Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Fire Company or Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837.

Florence was born May 21, 1926. She grew up on a farm, and loved her horses. She worked at Michael Sterns Clothing Factory in Penn Yan, but mostly was a housewife. She loved to sew. Florence loved to go deer hunting with her boys, until it got too hard to get to the deer stand. She shot her last buck when she was 92 years old! Her favorite thing to do most recently was feeding the chickens popcorn during "beer thirsty" (she always had her bottle of water!) at Pete and Sandy's. She made many friends in her life and enjoyed a cup of coffee, sweet treat and visits with a lot of them.

Mrs. Osborne loved her community and was a 58 year member of the Dundee V.F.W. Goodrich-Smith Post #8649, Auxiliary; and enjoyed driving one of her son’s many tractors in the annual Memorial Day Parade.

She is loved and will be missed by her children. Louella (Bob Goodwin), Pete (Sandy Hodge) Dean, and Judd (Dianne) Dean; grandchildren Leslie Cook, Lance Cook, Jodi (Jayson) Hoover, Lisa Dean, Stephanie Sample, and Suzanne (Jeff) Schneeberger; 14 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; and special friends Joyce and Ron Thomas and Linda Gobeyn.

She was predeceased by her husband George Osborne in 2010.

Arrangements entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. Online condolences can be sent by visiting www.bairdfuneralhomedundee.com.
