Emma Jane Wheeler Dundee: Emma Jane Wheeler, age 73, of Dundee, NY died Tuesday September 4, 2012 at Steuben County Health Care Facility, in Bath, NY after a long battle with cancer. Honoring her wishes there will be no formal calling hours or funeral. Services will be at the convenience of the family. The family graciously requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Steuben County Health Care Facility 7009 Rumsey St. Ext. Bath, NY 14810; or to the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Emma was born April 24, 1939 in Dansville, NY, the daughter of the late Marion LaVerne and Louise Irene Spears Muchler. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1957; and then pursued a nursing career for many years. On Nov. 18, 1961 in Hammondsport, NY she married Arden Wheeler. When she was not busy raising her family, she loved to cook, bake, crochet, and play cards; but was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She is loved and will be sadly missed by her husband of 50 years, Arden Wheeler at home; 3 sons Lynn (Bonnie) Wheeler, Steve (Amanda) Wheeler both of Dundee, James (Patti) Wheeler of Italy Hill, NY, 2 daughters Rose (Fred) Parsons of Avon, NY, and Mary Wheeler of Dundee; 8 grandchildren Ashley Wheeler, Alisha Wheeler, Andrea Garrett, Angelique Wheeler, Patrick Wheeler, Mickayla Tyler, Michael Wheeler, and Cheyanne Wheeler; 4 great grandchildren, Emmalee Elizabeth Garrett, Anna Marie Rodriguez, Carter Steven Wheeler, and David D. Garrett IV; a sister Marian Perry of Penn Yan; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a sister Virginia Easling in October of 1984.
